Stephen Evans

B Arch , ARAIA, Registered Architect (6219), NZIA

A graduate of University of Auckland (NZ) School of Architecture in 1988, Stephen has been in Australia since that time working in numerous Architectural practices, including Peter Mulroney and; Co in Woollahra, Sydney. He is currently a Registered Architect in both Australia and New Zealand.

Stephen joined Leffler Simes in 1995 as a Project Architect, becoming an Associate Director in 1999 and Director in 2006.

Stephen established the Melbourne office in January 2003 in response to the growing demand in Victoria for our services. Since that time the Melbourne office has grown significantly to become a large component of our Business.

During this time, Stephen has been involved in projects throughout Australia and New Zealand, Slovenia and various cities in Asia. These projects include commercial offices, standard retail and bulky goods developments, ranging in construction value from $ 1M to $ 200M.

Recently completed projects include:
  • Home HQ in Nunawading, VIC. A two level retail centre of 25,000 sqm GLA. Completed Oct 2006.
  • Harvey Norman Center, Wellington, NZ. A three level retail centre of 25,000 sqm. GLA. Completed Nov 2006.
  • Cambridge Park, Tasmania. A bulky goods development of 39,000 sqm. GLA. Completed June 2008.
  • Harvey Norman Ljulbjana, Novo Mesto, Kranj and Koper. Slovenia. Various Retail developments throughout Slovenia.

Current Projects include:
  • Mixed Use Development development at Tullamarine Airport. Approx 80,000 sqm GLA, currently subject to a Masterplanning Application.
  • IKEA / Harvey Norman Shopping Centre, Springvale, VIC, 70,000 sqm GLA with a budget of approximately $ 200M. Currently under documentation.
  • Bulky Goods Development, Mentone. 40,000 sqm GLA. Construction due to commence shortly.
